Fees and Payment

 We accept privately paid work, conditional fee agreements, publicly funded cases and casework through the public access scheme.

Paying Fees

You can pay your legal fees quickly and safely through PayPal by clicking on the link below.  PayPal is free to use and you can pay with money held in your PayPal account or use another payment method such as a credit card, debit card or your bank account. 

Transparent and fair fees

Our fees are usually based on hourly rates that vary according to the seniority and experience of counsel, and the complexity and urgency of your case.

Practitioners are required to record details of the hours worked and this will be itemised on a fee note.

If possible we will provide a fixed price for advisory and drafting work in advance. Where we do provide a fixed price for a piece of work we will never exceed the amount we have quoted without express prior client authority. There are no hidden charges or 'extras'. We usually charge fixed-rate fees for advocacy work, especially for court work, and we will negotiate those fees before appearing on your behalf.

Experience and rates

Fee arrangements are agreed separately for each case according to their length and complexity. Our fees are flexible and competitive, while reflecting our high standard of advice and service.

The following fee range indicates our charges according to the experience of barristers:

• Under 5 years: £50 - £100

• 5-10 years: £80 - £150


• 10-15 years: £140 - £300


• Over 15 years: £180 - £450


• Queen’s Counsel (Silk): £350 +


The above table is only a guide. We will always advise on suitable counsel and provide a more accurate and flexible assessment of the fees for your case.

If requested, our clerks can quote hourly rates for individual barristers.

Terms of business

Our standard terms of business are applicable on all new private cases unless an alternative arrangement has been agreed.
