Chambers has a number of practitioners who are qualified in a variety of foreign jurisdictions. We offer our advocacy services in those jurisdictions together with specialist advice on English law, or conflict of laws and can bring our in-depth knowledge of banking law, general commercial litigation and advisory work, financial services, extradition, fraud, asset tracing and recovery and international criminal work.
Several members of Chambers have extensive experience of international commercial arbitration especially under the ICC, UNCITRAL and LCIA rules. Robert-Jan Temmink is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and many of the commercial team within Chambers are Members of the Chartered Institute.

Outer Temple Chambers was the first barristers' chambers to have a physical presence in the Middle East with an office in the centre of Abu Dhabi which was opened in November 2007. This office provides a base for our commercial, regulatory and arbitration work in the United Arab Emirates.
We can offer a comprehensive service in all international commercial arbitrations and other advisory work for international clients. We are currently handling several substantial arbitrations many of which are in the pre-issue phase of the dispute.
Richard Lissack QC, Andrew Spink QC, Robert Rhodes QC, Keith Bryant, Robert-Jan Temmink, William Frain-Bell, Saul Margo and Farhaz Khan each has full rights of audience in the Dubai international Financial Centre Court.
We will have barristers based in the Middle East throughout 2008 including, door tenant, William Frain-Bell who will be working with the senior partner at Pinsent Mason in Dubai and following that will be based in Oman for several months together with other members of the commercial team in Chambers. Members have strong links with the DIFC in Dubai, with the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce through our association with local lawyers, and in Oman and Saudi Arabia.

United States of America Services
Three members (Richard Lissack QC, Gerard McDermott QC and Robert-Jan Temmink) are members of the American Counsel Association - a leading society of US Lawyers, many of whose members are also prominent in the American Bar Association. Gerard McDermott QC is qualified as an attorney in New York State and Richard Lissack QC and Robert-Jan Temmink are registered with the New York State Bar as Foreign Legal Consultants.
Richard Lissack QC and Robert-Jan Temmink have been closely involved (with a transatlantic team of lawyers from Clifford Chance) in advising and representing Jack Alderman, the longest-serving inmate of death row, prior to his execution by lethal injection on 16 September 2008, in the Georgia state courts and the US Supreme Court. Gerard McDermott QC is frequently asked to advise and act in cases with a conflict of laws element, often in personal injury and product liability cases.
Richard, Gerard, Robert-Jan have all spoken extensively, together with Andrew Spink QC at conferences and seminars predominantly on the east coast of the United States and between them they have a wealth of contacts across all 50 states and also in US Dependencies. Cyrus Vance Jnr. an attorney and door tenant at Outer Temple Chambers, is based in New York as a principal in the leading law firm, Morvillo Abramovitz. Richard and Robert are frequently asked to advise and act in international commercial arbitrations with their seat in New York, and Richard Lissack QC has acted as an expert witness on issues of English commercial law in litigation in the United States.
British Virgin Islands Services
Outer Temple Chambers has an association with law firm Farara Kerins in the British Virgin Islands with door tenants Gerard Ferara QC and Charles Kerins working in association with Richard Lissack QC and Ben Compton in the Carribean.
Northern Ireland
As part of the commercial team’s commitment to cross-border civil and criminal asset tracing and recovery work Richard Lissack QC, Robert-Jan Temmink, Peter Skelton and Michael Uberoi are all called to the Bar of Northern Ireland. Both Peter and Michael have been working in Belfast for a number of months.
