Practice summary

James practices in chancery law with a particular emphasis on the law relating to occupational pension schemes. He advises employers, trustees and members alike in relation to a wide range of issues including equalisation, rectification, the construction of scheme documents and estoppel.

James also has particular experience of pensions regulatory law having acted as standing counsel to the Determinations Panel for a number of years. He has particular experience of the law in relation to financial support directions, contribution notices and the appointment of independent trustees whether acting for the Determinations Panel or targets.

James' practice also embraces a number of other aspects of chancery litigation including professional negligence (whether pensions related or otherwise).
