Practice summary

Keira accepts instructions across the breadth of Chambers’ practice.

Keira has a particular interest in employment and public law with a focus on all aspects of equality and discrimination. She represents claimants and respondents at employment tribunal hearings and is Standing Counsel to the British Association of Journalists. She recently acted as Support Counsel to the Al-Sweady Inquiry: a public inquiry into allegations of mistreatment and unlawful killing by British Soldiers in Iraq. 

Keira advises on liability and quantum in personal injury cases and represents both claimants and defendants in fast-track and multi-track trials. She has experience of clinical negligence cases and has appeared at a number of inquests.



Keira also practices in criminal, healthcare, disciplinary and regulatory law. She presents cases on behalf of the Nursing and Midwifery Council, and prosecutes on behalf of the RSPCA. She was previously seconded to the FSA’s enforcement division in connection with the prosecution of an insider-dealing ring. She has successfully defended clients in Courts Martial.

Before joining Outer Temple, Keira worked on habeas corpus appeals for the Arizona Capital Representation Project. She also acted for the Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative in Accra, Ghana. She has a First Class English and History BA Hons degree from the University of York, and completed the Graduate Diploma of Law in 2007 with Distinction.
