Harriet Jerram's key practice areas are clinical negligence and personal injury. She also represents clients at inquests, public inquiries and before disciplinary bodies.
Harriet undertakes a full range of clinical negligence work for both Claimants and Defendants. She acts as a junior in high-value brain and spinal injury cases, but also represents clients in a range of lower value cases. Her experience encompasses the areas of obstetrics, surgery (including plastic surgery), oncology, accident and emergency medicine and issues surrounding consent.
Harriet's personal injury practice includes employer's liability, road traffic accidents, and Animals Act claims. She has particular experience in equine cases.
Harriet has a diverse healthcare practice. She has represented doctors at the GMC and FHSAA, but also advises Trusts on a range of matters, including capacity to consent to treatment, PII applications and human rights issues.
Inquests form a central part of Harriet's practice, where she represents families, healthcare Trusts and insurers. She has particular experience of inquests concerning deaths during psychiatric and other hospital treatment.
Harriet has extensive experience of public inquiry work. In the Shipman Inquiry, she was part of the team representing the families of Harold Shipman's victims. She appeared in the Richard Neale Inquiry for all of the patients treated by him.
