Harry Trusted has extensive experience representing claimants and defendants in a wide variety of civil claims.  He now specialises in higher value personal injury and clinical negligence work;  these will usually involve spinal injuries, brain damage or amputations.

In the last year, he has been involved in three substantial cases which have all been reported because of their legal and factual significance.  Harry was part of the team that represented the successful claimant at first instance in Corbett v S. Yorkshire Health Authority, which became one of the cases which was heard as Tameside v Thompstone.  Harry was involved in all aspects of the arguments about the indexation of periodical payments, and he regular speaks and writes articles on this and other topics of interest.

In July 2008, led by Gerard MacDermott QC from Outer Temple Chambers, Harry represented the successful claimant in Farraj v King's Healthcare which was a wrongful birth claim involving diverse issues of fact and law.  In October 2008, led by Christopher Wilson-Smith QC from Outer Temple Chambers, Harry represented the successful claimant who had been rendered tetraplegic after a ski-ing accident (Anderson v Lyotier).  In February 2007, he represented the successful defendant in  Lodge v Cooke in a claim involving the alleged development of complex regional pain syndrome.  Harry is retained as one of the team of barristers who is approved to represent Cornwall County Council, and he was one of those who represented the bereaved families in Professor Sir Ian Kennedy's inquiry into paediatric cardiac surgery at Bristol in 1999-2000.
