Harry Trusted specialises in clinical negligence, personal injury, and related fields. His practice includes a good balance of claimant and defendant work predominantly involving high value claims, including brain injury, spinal cord damage, cerebral palsy and amputations.
Harry was initially a member of the chambers of George Carman QC. He decided to focus on his present area of practice and moved to Outer Temple Chambers in 1995. In 1998 – 1999 he was junior counsel for the bereaved families in the Kennedy Inquiry in paediatric surgery at the Bristol Royal Infirmary and since that time he has maintained an interest in cardiac cases and their management.
Harry has been a founding editor of “Facts & Figures” since its first publication in 1996 and he is the Secretary of the Ogden Working Party. He is also a frequent lecturer on topics connected with the assessment of loss and similar topics and he contributes articles to professional journals dealing with these subjects.
Harry is instructed on a wide range of personal injury cases, for claimants and defendants, including:
- Road traffic accidents
- Occupier’s liability
- Industrial accidents
- Fatal accidents act claims arising from the above
- “Cross-over” claims involving clinical negligence worsening the effects of an RTA or industrial accident
Harry has also written articles and presented training on various topics, including expert witnesses, consent issues and Part 36 offers.
Ongoing claim for a girl who was injured by a ball which struck her head causing brain injury when she was playing rounders at school.
Ongoing claim for a girl whose head was crushed by the rear wheel of a car. Issues as to the nature and extent of the insurer’s liability and possible claims against the UK Government relating to failure to implement EU Directives.
Ongoing instructions for defendants of a claim brought by a woman who suffered multiple catastrophic injuries following an accident involving a powered tricycle.
Claim settled in July 2015 for a tetraplegic man injured by an accident at work. Led by Christopher Wilson-Smith QC.
Claim settled in April 2015 for a man rendered paraplegic by a road accident.
Beer v Frank
Brain injury to a young man following a road accident. Difficult causation issues. Claim settled after permission to appeal was obtained.
