Jonathan Hand’s main areas of practice are clinical negligence, personal injury and professional negligence. He has a mix of both claimant and defendant clients and is well known for his work in riding and other animal related litigation.
Jonathan has experience of a wide range of clinical negligence claims. He is frequently instructed in high value claims including cases involving cerebral palsy and other brain injury. He is currently acting in the multi-party claims arising out of the misdiagnosis and mistreatment of epilepsy at Leicester Royal Infirmary during the 1990s and has been closely involved in the successful ADR process devised to manage the several hundred claims being brought.
Much of his personal injury work involves catastrophic spinal and head injuries as well as fatal accident claims. Jonathan has a particular interest in riding and other animal related litigation including claims under the Animals Act 1971 where his considerable experience in this area can bring a real benefit.
His professional negligence work includes claims arising out of the conduct of personal injury litigation and equine related cases including claims against veterinary surgeons.
