Tim Nesbitt has a practice which focuses particularly on regulatory, public, and commercial law.

He is particularly well known for his work in relation to the transport industry, where he is recognised as one of the leading practitioners at the Bar. His work in this context ranges from Public Inquiries in the operator licensing system, through defending companies and directors on serious charges in the criminal Courts (particularly corporate and gross negligence manslaughter), to acting in relation all kinds of commercial dispute.

Tim's other principal areas of regulatory work include advising in relation to and defending health and safety prosecutions, acting for those accused of professional disciplinary offences, and financial services work.

Tim undertakes a wide variety of public law work. He has a particular interest in and experience of the law relating to Coroner's inquests, and in all aspects of human rights law - a subject on which he frequently lectures. His commercial practice encompasses all varieties of contractual dispute, the law of trusts, and sports law. He includes within his commercial work representation in all kinds of employment dispute.

Tim also continues to accept instructions in personal injury work - in relation to which, although developed other areas of work in recent years - he has 17 years of experience at all levels.
