As we continue to grow, we seek like-minded barristers, trainees and staff with a commitment to the service excellence, openness and diversity, that Outer Temple has made its hallmark.
Staff & Tenancy Vacancies
These are advertised on this site and externally. We welcome applications from all sections of the community and we adhere to best practice on equal opportunities. We also invite solicitors wishing to transfer to the bar who have appropriate experience.
Placing great importance on the recruitment and training of pupils (from whom we expect to recruit most of our future tenants) enhances the positive environment and reputation of our chambers. We recruit through the Pupillage Gateway, in line with its timetable, for our 12 month pupillages. We recruit directly in alternate years for our 18 month pupillage scheme in association with FRU.
With a strong tradition of mini-pupillages, we offer two courses each year to give prospective barristers an insight into life at the Bar, including candidates who might not otherwise be given the opportunity.
We offer students an opportunity to do work experience at various points in the year.
Disability Confident Committed
Chambers is a Disability Confident Committed employer. As users of the disability confident scheme, we encourage applicants with a disability to apply to us for advertised vacancies and we guarantee to interview all disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria for the vacancy. The Disability Confident scheme is operated by the Department of Work and Pensions of the UK government.
Living Wage Employer
Outer Temple is one of the first chambers to become an accredited Living Wage Employer.
Outer Temple is a signatory to the Charter for Employers who are Positive about Mental Health. The Charter is a voluntary agreement, not an accreditation or set of quality standards.
