Evans v United Kingdom (2008) EHRR 728

The UK policy of requiring consent to the use of fertilised embryos in all circumstances did not offend against the human rights of the applicant - a cancer victim for whom the embryos represented her last opportunity for the birth of a child to whom she was genetically related.
