Christine Kings is Chambers Director. As part of the senior management team she leads on policy development, strategic planning, finance and fees management, marketing and administration.
Over the years she has contributed to numerous Bar Council and LSC committees and working groups particularly around pupillage recruitment, equality and diversity and quality standards. She is currently active on the BSB public access working group, on the Quality Assurance Scheme for Advocates working party, on a BSB panel looking at working practices post LSA 2007 and is chair of the BarMark panel. The treasurer of the Bar Pro Bono Unit, she is also joint chair of the Legal Practice Management Association, vice chair of the Legal Action Group and chair of the Mary Ward Legal Centre.
Prior to managing chambers, Christine was a support worker at a women's refuge, head of campaigns at the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament, an events organiser in the last year of the GLC and co-director of the Emergency Planning Information Centre. She helped set up Doughty Street Chambers in 1990 and was chief executive there until 2007.
