Christine Kings is one of the two directors at Outer Temple. As part of the senior management team she leads on strategic planning, policy development, finance, marketing and administration.
Over the years she has contributed to numerous initiatives particularly around pupillage recruitment, equality and diversity and quality standards. She was chair of the Barmark panel, a member of the Organising Committee for the Bar Conference, and has been active on Bar Council and BSB committees and working groups covering, inter alia, entity regulation, public access and new business models for the bar. Until recently Christine was the treasurer of the Bar Pro Bono Unit and a trustee of Bar in the Community. She is joint chair of the Legal Practice Management Association and vice chair of the Legal Action Group. She is a former chair of the Mary Ward Legal Centre.
Prior to managing chambers, Christine was a support worker at a women’s refuge, head of campaigns at the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament, an events organiser in the last year of the GLC and co-director of the Emergency Planning Information Centre. She helped set up Doughty Street Chambers in 1990 and was chief executive there until 2007.
