Call: +44 (0)20 7353 6381 or email Shiraz Oshidar for further information.
Shiraz Oshidar’s career started off in a research function within a local authority, from where he moved to producing a public policy conference for the European Commission. After a period working for an association of translators, interpreters and translation companies, from late 1999 Shiraz was employed by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), a global self-regulatory body for over 120,000 land, property and construction professionals. He started off as International Operations Manager, helping solidify membership structures in the USA and China. His final years at the RICS were spent as a Professional Practice Manager of the RICS Dispute Resolution Professional Group, where he managed the development of standards and guidance for surveyors in the fields of arbitration, ADR, advocacy and expert witness practice.
Educated at the University of St Andrews, Scotland (MA Hons, French & Spanish), Shiraz did not play as much golf as he really should have in St Andrews, not to mention his abject failure to run regularly at dawn, Chariots of Fire-style, on the town’s beautiful beaches. Outside of his work, he has until recently been a school governor at a local Academy. He is known occasionally to experiment with poetry, chocolate, fine spices and bicycle inner tubes (in no particular order).
His preferred football team is, naturally, Outer Temple United. He is a member of the LPMA.
