Working with In-house Counsel

Direct instruction of barristers

In-house counsel often find it more cost-effective and efficient to instruct us directly on some legal issues.  Our lower overheads mean lower hourly rates and, where referral services are not required, you can save the cost of  going through a solicitor altogether.

This route is particularly suited to advisory work, pre-litigation strategy, preparation for hearings and representation in court and tribunals. We have wide experience of taking direct instruction from in-house counsel in areas such as employment, professional negligence and commercial litigation.

High quality services in a single package

Outer Temple Chambers offers in-house counsel a complete package of high-quality legal services. While not every case is suitable for direct instruction, in the right circumstances we can manage all aspects of a case avoiding the need for you to engage an additional legal team. This will save you time and reduce your costs.
