Amna Ali and Nikky Carabott officially join Chambers as tenants

Outer Temple Chambers is pleased to welcome Amna Ali and Nikky Carabott as new tenants upon completion of their pupillages.

We are delighted to share that after the successful completion of their pupillages, Amna Ali and Nikky Carabott accepted offers of tenancy and, as of today, are members of Chambers.

Saul Margo, Head of Pupillage said: “Amna and Nikky have both had excellent years and have great careers ahead of them. We wish them well.”

Amna Ali

Amna Ali read law at New College, Oxford, graduating with a First in Jurisprudence, and was later awarded the Roche Scholarship for the BCL at the University of Oxford. During the BCL, Amna represented the University of Oxford in the ELSA Moot Court Competition, and won the 23ES Commercial Law Moot during the BPTC. She also volunteered at Support Through Court and BPP Legal Advice Clinic.

Prior to starting pupillage, Amna was awarded the OPBP – Bonavero Institute Student Fellowship at UNRWA Field Legal Office, Jordan. She prepared legal opinions, contracts, and internal memoranda relating to UN employment policies. Amna also worked as a legal assistant to personal injury barristers and gained a valuable insight into preparing pleadings in high-value cases.

Nikky Carabott

Before coming to the Bar, Nikky Carabott practised law at a leading commercial law firm in Malta, where she worked across the firm’s practice areas, gaining experience in commercial contracts, financial services, and employment, amongst other areas. She also has experience in transactional work and has been involved in corporate restructurings, acquisitions, and bond issues.

Nikky holds Bachelor of Laws (Hons.) and Master of Advocacy degrees from the University of Malta. She obtained a Master of Laws (International Dispute Resolution) with Distinction from King’s College London, which included modules on international commercial and investment arbitration, before completing the Bar Transfer Test. While preparing to sit for the Bar Transfer Test, Nikky volunteered with NGOs and successfully competed in advocacy competitions, both at King’s College London and nationally.
