Anson Cheung offered tenancy at Outer Temple Chambers

We are delighted to offer tenancy to our successful pupil, Anson Cheung, from April 2021.

After months of hard work as a pupil and excellent feedback at Outer Temple Chambers, we are delighted to announce that Anson Cheung has been offered a tenancy at Chambers.

During pupillage, Anson saw a broad range of general commercial, pensions, financial services and construction work, both in litigation and arbitration.

Anson has most recently worked under the supervision of Justina Stewart specialising in the areas of banking, financial services and commercial fraud. She has been exposed to a wide range of commercial matters involving cross-border jurisdictional issues. Anson was also supervised by Nicholas Hill which exposed her to a wide range of pensions law and trust law. She has a keen interest in developing both of these practice areas.

Anson graduated with a Double First at the University of Oxford and a Distinction on the BCL. Anson said of the news “I am delighted to have accepted an offer of tenancy from Outer Temple. I have learned a great deal during pupillage from my supervisors Nicholas and Justina in the pensions and commercial/ banking practice areas. I look forward to building my practice in this supportive community and with the fantastic clerking team.”

Anson is already a member of the Attorney General’s Junior Junior Scheme and her clear grasp of the law has seen her work published online, including a recent Practice Direction 57AC guide. She was also awarded joint first prize in the Society of Construction Law Hudson Prize 2019 for the essay entitled  ‘Triple Point Technologies – pointing to confusion’.

Chief Executive Rebecca Priestley said “Many congratulations and a warm welcome to Anson. It has been a turbulent year for the legal world but Anson has tackled and conquered all the challenges that this pandemic has thrown at her during her time as a pupil. I am certain that her resilience and huge talent will help her to achieve great things with Outer Temple.”
