Outer Temple’s Travel Team provide comment on the Karpik v Carnival judgment, released on the 25th October 2023. Carnival PLC have been found liable for injuries and losses arising out of a coronavirus outbreak onboard the Ruby Princess cruise liner. An Australian federal court has found Carnival PLC liable under breaches of Australian consumer law and in the tort of negligence for injuries and losses arising out of a coronavirus outbreak on the Ruby Princess cruise liner in March 2020. On 27 September, the DIFC published Consultation Papers[1] on a new Digital Assets Law, new Law of Security and proposed amendments to a wide range of DIFC Laws.[2] See the DIFC’s press release here.
