Outer Temple Chambers team to take part in Tour de Law 2022

We are proud to share that 25 Outer Temple Barristers and members of staff will be taking part in this year’s Tour De Law 2022 static bicycle challenge to raise money for Breast Cancer Now. This will be going ahead from 12th – 13th October 2022. Tour de Law is an annual static bike challenge that involves squads from different law firms and chambers in the UK racing against each other to raise money for Breast Cancer Now. Alex Haines and Victoria Brown achieve a landmark win before the OAS Administrative Tribunal

The OAS Administrative Tribunal has handed down judgment in Griner v Secretary General of the OAS, judgment no. 169. Alex Haines and Victoria Brown appeared for the successful Complainant during a three-day hearing at the OAS’s headquarters in Washington DC in April 2022 before all six judges of the Tribunal sitting en banc for the first time. In its historic decision, the Tribunal changed the applicable standard of proof for cases of serious misconduct. The landmark win entirely vindicates Mr Griner, whom the Tribunal ordered be re-instated with back-pay, or be awarded the maximum available under the Tribunal’s Statute; the latter for only the second time in the Tribunal’s history, and for the first time since the 1980s. Carol Cheng has joined Outer Temple Chambers as a New Pupil

We are delighted to welcome our new pupil Carol Cheng to Chambers, who commenced her pupillage with us on 3rd October 2022. Outer Temple is delighted to welcome new pupil Carol Cheng to our set. We look forward to having her with us and are sure she will gain lots of invaluable experience. Prior to starting pupillage, she practised as a solicitor in the banking department at Linklaters (London) since 2017, following completion of a two-year training contract with Linklaters (Hong Kong) since 2015. The Law Commission’s ‘Digital Assets: Consultation Paper’ is a masterful discussion of many key issues relating to digital assets.
