Abhi Mukherjee is a Professional Associate at Outer Temple Chambers based in Melbourne, Australia. Abhi is a former member of Chambers having been called to the Bar of England and Wales in 1995. In 2013, he joined the Victorian Bar in Australia after relocating to Melbourne.
Abhi specialises in medical law, industrial disease and personal injury. Since commencing practice as a barrister in Australia, he has been mainly involved in clinical negligence cases, professional disciplinary matters and representing interested parties at coronial inquests including bereaved families and healthcare professionals.
After moving to Australia, Abhi has also been instructed as an expert witness by a defendant UK law firm to opine on aspects of care costs, quantum, procedure and fund management in relation to an Australian claimant who was severely injured in the UK and brought proceedings in the UK but would reside and have her future care dispensed in Australia.
Whilst a tenant at Outer Temple Chambers, Abhi had a similar practice to his current practice in Australia. He practised in medical law undertaking medical negligence work and appearing regularly at the General Medical Council (and other healthcare bodies) on behalf of healthcare professionals.
Abhi regularly speaks at medico-legal seminars in Australia and is actively involved in CPD training. He is a member of the Medico-Legal Society of Victoria.
