Prior to commencing pupillage at Outer Temple Chambers, Emman worked as a legal assistant to a barrister at a leading set specialising in media, public, and human rights law. In this role, she assisted with complex matters, including a high-profile defamation trial.
Emman graduated from the University of Cambridge with First Class Honours in Law, where she was awarded the Bundy Scholarship and the Orlando Bridgeman Prize for her performance in the Law Tripos examinations. She subsequently completed an LLM at the London School of Economics, with a focus on public international law, and was awarded a Distinction. Emman went on to complete the Bar Course on a Lord Denning Scholarship from Lincoln’s Inn, achieving an Outstanding overall, with the highest and second-highest marks in her cohort in Criminal Litigation and Civil Litigation respectively.
Alongside her academic studies, Emman has gained wide-ranging experience across different areas of practice. She has volunteered with organisations including Advocate, Bail for Immigration Detainees, Liberty, and Support Through Court, assisting with matters involving public, immigration, and employment law.
