Emman is developing a broad practice across civil and commercial litigation, with a particular focus on employment and discrimination, public law and international disputes. She also accepts instructions in personal injury, clinical negligence, professional regulation and insolvency.
Emman joined Outer Temple Chambers in September 2026, following the successful completion of her pupillage. She has a particular interest in employment and discrimination, acting for both claimants and respondents in claims including discrimination, unfair dismissal and whistleblowing. She recently acted as sole counsel in an employment claim against the UAE Government, successfully resisting a state immunity defence at trial, and is currently preparing for a 26-day Employment Tribunal trial in a high-profile employment dispute. She has also assisted leading counsel in the Employment Appeal Tribunal and on High Court trials.
Her wider experience includes public law, international and cross-border disputes, personal injury, clinical negligence, professional regulation, insolvency and POCA. She has assisted in advising the Secretary of State on litigation risk in relation to a Department for Transport matter and has worked on DIFC disputes involving a worldwide freezing order and complex disclosure. She has also worked on sanctions and international arbitration matters and advised on Cayman Islands hedge fund legislation.
Before joining Chambers, Emman worked as a legal assistant to a barrister at a leading set specialising in media, public, and human rights law. In this role, assisting on complex and high-profile matters, including a substantial defamation trial. She has volunteered with Advocate, Bail for Immigration Detainees, Liberty, and Support Through Court.
Emman graduated from the University of Cambridge with First Class Honours in Law, where she was awarded the Bundy Scholarship and the Orlando Bridgeman Prize. She subsequently completed an LLM with Distinction. Emman completed the Bar Course on a Lord Denning Scholarship from Lincoln’s Inn, achieving an Outstanding overall, and was awarded the Buchanan Prize for her performance on the Bar Course. She achieved the highest and second-highest marks in her cohort in Criminal Litigation and Civil Litigation respectively.
Emman’s employment practice spans the full range of employment and discrimination matters, acting for both claimants and respondents. She is regularly instructed in the Employment Tribunal across claims including unfair dismissal, wrongful dismissal, whistleblowing, victimisation, harassment, and direct discrimination on the grounds of race, disability, sex and age. Clients have included Premier League football clubs, FTSE 100 companies, high net worth individuals occupying senior management roles, and public bodies.
Emman is currently instructed as part of a team of senior barristers and silks in a 26-day Employment Tribunal trial and is instructed as sole counsel for a five-day trial.

Emman has experience in business crime, regulatory and sanctions matters, having been supervised by Oliver Powell KC and Jeremy Scott-Joynt. She has assisted on cases involving companies, company officers and high net worth individuals in relation to allegations of fraud, bribery and corruption, insider dealing, tax evasion, breach of sanctions and export controls, cartels and money laundering, as well as contentious work arising out of investigations undertaken by the CMA, FCA, HMRC, NCA, OFSI, OTSI and SFO.

Emman has a keen interest in disputes before the DIFC and ADGM Courts, having developed experience in this area under the supervision of Sajid Suleman during pupillage. She has assisted on a range of matters before both courts, gaining familiarity with the procedural and jurisdictional issues particular to the DIFC and ADGM, including the interaction between the onshore and offshore courts.
