Harry Trusted is a first class trial advocate and negotiator, dealing with clinical negligence and personal injury claims. He is regularly instructed on behalf of claimants and defendants by specialist solicitors in high value cases.

In 2020, he has helped to negotiate settlements with an aggregate value in excess of £150 million. The cases involved claimants with tetraplegia, blindness, short gut syndrome, amputation and cerebral palsy.

Recent cases include PXS v Kingston NHS FT [2019] EWHC 487, Flanaghan v Plymouth NHS FT [2019] EWHC 1898 and AXO v Salisbury NHS FT [2019] 1454.

Harry is a founder editor of Facts and Figures which has been published annually since 1996 and is the standard book used by advocates and judges dealing with substantial injury claims. He has also contributed to the 2019 edition of “Cross Border Claims” by Sarah Crowther KC and he is the Secretary of the Ogden Working Party which published the 8th Edition of the Ogden Tables in July 2020.

Other publications, including numerous articles. In December 2018, the Journal of Personal Injury Law published Harry’s account of the first successful Lariam claim brought against the Ministry of Defence which settled at the end of 2017. Harry has also given Webinar broadcasts in association with providers MBL (Management, Business, Law). These deal with a wide variety of topics including brain injury, peri-natal birth claims and calculation of losses arising from catastrophic injury. He has been asked to present legal updates to the Professional Negligence Bar Association and has provided an analysis of the Court of Appeal decision in Swift v Carpenter [2020] EWCA Civ 1295 which is available on request.
