Ziad Salloum is a partner with Salloum & Partners LLC, formerly the Law Offices of Samir A. Salloum. The firm was established in Abu Dhabi, UAE in 1980.
Before converting to and pursuing a career in law, Ziad was a banker with one of the top banks in Lebanon, with four years’ experience first in Treasury and Capital Markets, then followed by Private Banking.
He has advised on many areas and aspects of UAE law, including commercial and corporate matters, company formation, joint ventures, strategic and structural planning, secured and unsecured lending, financing, mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, succession and estate planning, dispute resolution, and employment law.
Ziad has represented UAE and foreign government entities and embassies, top multinational and local companies, educational institutions, banks and other financial entities, and many entrepreneurs and leading business-owning families operating in a variety of fields, including oil & gas, construction, real estate, design, and manufacturing. Notably, he has advised the Paris-Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi and was also part of the team that advised on the Louvre Abu Dhabi and Guggenheim Abu Dhabi projects.
Ziad is member of the Board of Directors of the International Lawyers Network (ILN), and of two schools in the UAE.
He served two terms on the Board of the French Business Group, and is serving his fourth consecutive term on the Board of the UFE. He was a member of the Advisory Board of the Emirati-Swiss Friendship Forum, a joint initiative of the governments of the UAE and Switzerland.
Additionally, Ziad holds a University of London Master of Laws (LLM) from the School of Oriental & African Studies (SOAS), a G.Dip in Law from the University of East Anglia, a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from the Lebanese University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the American University of Beirut. He is admitted to the Beirut Bar.
Ziad is also a photographer and has participated in a number of charity fundraising and environmental awareness initiatives.
