Year of Call:
Ben Bradley is recommend by the leading directories across his core practice areas of Clinical Negligence, Personal Injury and Travel Law.
Described by Chambers & Partners as “…an extremely able barrister who performs well above his call”, Ben now predominantly focuses on acting in cases both for Claimants and Defendants, where individuals have suffered life changing or fatal injuries.
He currently acts as one of Chambers’ pupil supervisors.
Ben is on the Spinal Injury Association’s list of approved counsel.
Recent instructions include acting for a number of Indian Nationals who all suffered serious injury (including brain and spinal injury) following a road traffic accident on the M40. Settlement was achieved at a level incorporating a more advantageous discount rate than that prescribed by the Lord Chancellor.
He regularly represents former (and current) members of the military in claims against the Ministry of Defence.
Ben has acted for numerous clients who have suffered chronic pain or somatoform-type disorders (see, for example: Downing v Peterborough & Stamford NHS Trust EWHC 4216 (QB) – full liability award of c. £2.4m).
He acts for victims of historic sex abuse; he successfully appeared as junior counsel for the Claimant at trial in the first claim to be brought against the Watch Tower Society of Britain (Jehovah’s Witnesses) (A v The Trustees of the Watchtower Bible & Tract Society EWHC 1722 (QB)); and then acted alone in resisting the Defendant’s application for permission to appeal (reported at EWCA Civ 1026).
Ben is regularly instructed to represent some of the country’s leading race trainers and riding schools to defend personal injury/equine claims which are brought against them.
