David Pope has practised as a commercial barrister in London for over 20 years, both at the independent Bar and at Dentons, the international law firm. He is a specialist in banking and finance disputes.

David was a full-time member of Outer Temple Chambers until October 2017. He is now a Senior Visiting Fellow at the UCL Faculty of Laws, where he teaches a course he developed on advocacy and classical rhetoric. He also provides training to lawyers on persuasive writing and speaking.

Publications

David has written academic articles in UK and international legal journals. He has also written on legal issues for The Times, The Lawyer, Legal Week, New Law Journal and The Law Society Gazette.

David co-wrote a student book on mooting (Mooting and Advocacy Skills, Sweet & Maxwell, 3rd ed., 2015) that has sold in over 20 countries.
