Natasha has expertise in all aspects of employment and discrimination, acting for a wide range of claimants and respondents.
Natasha has acted in local authority mass equal pay claims and is currently instructed on behalf of a large group of claimants in one of the retail mass claims. She has represented a wide variety of public bodies and claimants including trade unions in long and complex discrimination and whistle-blowing cases, sometimes involving senior officers. She has frequently advised public bodies on higher level policy matters including the TUPE implications of various contracting arrangements and the equal opportunities implications of policy decisions.
She has experience in specialist areas such as the Police Regulations and issues arising from Maintaining High Professional Standards in the Modern NHS. Natasha has also advised employers and employees in relation to internal investigations of sexual harassment. Natasha represented one of the respondents in the part-time judges pension litigation. She has extensive experience of disability discrimination cases, including those involving specific learning disabilities such as dyslexia. She advises and acts in cases involving restrictive covenants and employment proceedings relating to injunctive relief and frequently appears in appeals to the EAT and beyond.
Natasha also acts in public law matters particularly in the field of education. She has a particular interest in disability and SEN. She undertakes professional negligence work particularly relating to trade unions and has experience in commercial disputes.
Natasha is chair of the ELA Pro Bono Committee and helped pioneer ELIPS, a pilot scheme for helping unrepresented litigants-in-person in the employment tribunal. She is a member of the Bar Council Pro Bono Board.
She writes widely in her areas of expertise and publications she contributes to include Bloomsbury Professional’s Discrimination Law and LexisNexis PSL. She has a particular interest in maternity rights and has written on the subject for the website Mumsnet and on legal matters generally for the Guardian.
Natasha accepts direct access instructions in appropriate cases.
