Chambers Global ranks the top lawyers and law firms in over 200 jurisdictions across the world. The rankings are based on the in-depth research by their dedicated and experienced team of researchers. They provide reliable recommendations, which ensures that clients are able to make an informed decision when instructing barristers and other legal professionals.
Nicolas Stallworthy QC has yet again been recognised by Chambers & Partners. This year Nicholas has been ranked in Band 4 and is described as a well-liked silk who handles an array of high-profile and high-value matters. They note that he is a recognised pensions expert (already being top-ranked in the Chambers & Partners UK edition), whose practice also includes insolvency, commercial trusts and breach of duty cases.
Chambers Global comments “He’s a superb lawyer who really gets under the skin of cases and is so interested in every angle. He’s a good advocate.”
Recent work noted was his instruction by the Pensions Regulator in claims arising out of the collapse of the Box Clever joint venture.
David is also ranked for 2020 in Band 4. Chambers Global commented that he is a well-known junior who has built a respected commercial chancery practice. He often handles insolvency and pensions matters and handles both domestic and international cases for a wide array of clients.
“He’s really valuable because he has immense experience of the pensions field and is involved in a lot of the cases. He is able to give very robust advice. He’s pragmatic and very easy to work with. An excellent junior.”
Recent work of note was on behalf of a defendant in Dickinson v NAL Realisations, involving claims by a director, shareholder and pension scheme trustee for monies said to be due.
Saaman joins the Commercial UK rankings as an Up and Coming Junior, having already been noted last year as a “rising star” in pensions.

Noteworthy work included his work on behalf of Aon, one of the plethora of defendants in a professional negligence claim for over £60 million brought by Gleeds. The case concerned the alleged negligence of solicitors, counsel and benefits consultants.
