Outer Temple Chambers is delighted to announce that after twelve months of hard work and upon completion of their pupillages, Charlotte Elves and Katherine Hampshire accepted offers of tenancy and are now official chambers members.
We wish them the very best in this new journey, and long, happy and successful careers at Outer Temple.
Charlotte Elves joined Outer Temple Chambers as a pupil in September 2022.
Prior to starting pupillage, Charlotte was the Singer Fellow in Medical Law and Ethics at Exeter College, University of Oxford, where she taught Medical Law, Criminal Law, and Jurisprudence. Her research focuses on the regulation of emerging technologies and public health law, and she has published on issues ranging from the UK Government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic to the regulation of human embryo research.
During her academic career, Charlotte was involved in policy making at a national level, providing evidence to the House of Commons Science and Technology Committee, and at an international level at the Council of Europe.
Katherine Hampshire began her pupillage career with Outer Temple in 2022.
Katherine graduated from her undergraduate degree at the University of Oxford with a First in Jurisprudence, as well as the Law Network Prize for Outstanding Results and Degree Performance and the Tutorial Committee prize for Outstanding Results. Prior to commencing her undergraduate degree, Katherine worked for Berkshire NHS CAMHS. During her undergraduate degree, she completed internships at Save the Children International and Deloitte LLP.
Katherine was awarded a Distinction and the Tempany Prize in Medical Ethics and Law in her master’s degree in Medical Ethics and Law at King’s College London. During her master’s she was a research assistant to Imogen Gould and Cressida Auckland, and also worked as a Civil Servant in the Department of International Trade.
