The community care team at Outer Temple Chambers represents individuals, local and central government and health bodies, with particular expertise in cases involving the rights of those with learning disabilities, those who are mentally ill, disabled, and the rights of children and young adults in the provision of community care and healthcare services.

The team has recently been appointed to the panel of chambers for Adult Social Care work by the London Boroughs Legal Alliance. Members are also frequently instructed by the Official Solicitor and solicitors firms acting for NHS Trusts.

Community Care Experience

Our community care barristers undertake both advisory and litigation work across this area of practice, including; judicial review, the rights and obligations of local authorities to children, parents and carers, the interrelationship between social services and health authorities, continuing NHS healthcare funding, ordinary residence disputes, mental health aftercare, procurement advice in social care and healthcare, persons without immigration status and public sector equality duties.
