The awards evening taking place on Thursday 14th November at Old Billingsgate, recognises the nations top legal professionals for their outstanding legal work and achievements. We are delighted that Fiona’s hard work within this area has been recognised and as a result of this, has been nominated as as Professional Discipline Silk of the Year at the 2024 Bar Awards.
Ranked as a Band 2 Silk, Fiona is described in the Chambers & Partners UK Bar Guide as a respected silk who prosecutes and defends professionals in the healthcare sector. She demonstrates a superior command of fitness-to-practise hearings as well as appeals in the Administrative Court, and is a strong choice for representation where there are allegations of serious sexual misconduct. She is also adept in the representation of individuals in financial services. Fiona is “a go-to barrister, who’s fantastic with clients. She’s very no-nonsense, prepares very thoroughly, and is an outstanding advocate.”

Fiona has a regular and extensive practice both defending and prosecuting regulated professionals. The professionals include (but are not limited to): healthcare, financial services and legal services professionals. She has represented many top consultants and surgeons in a wide variety of matters including poor clinical practice, dishonesty and sexual misconduct allegations. She has defended in the full range of performance, misconduct and health cases, often working in sensitive cases.
Fiona has conducted a number of serious and complicated cases regarding the regulation of actuaries on behalf of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries. Such cases invariably involve complex matters of expert evidence with regard to pensions and insurance.
