It was great to see everyone together at our International Women’s Day breakfast to honour and celebrate all the women in Chambers, as well as show our appreciation for everyone’s contributions and hard work.
In a nod to the ‘Accelerate Action’ theme, Fiona Horlick KC led a discussion on the gender pay gap at The Bar, identified in recent report published, which can be read here. Senior members, junior members, clerks and other members of our professional support team came together to discuss some of the issues identified in the report, and what we can do to address the imbalance going forward. It was particularly encouraging to see our male colleagues at the breakfast, chipping in their ideas.
It was lovely to catch up with everyone who attended, and we have already agreed to make this a regular thing. As a Chambers, we are dedicated to ensuring that people feel a valued part of the team and have a platform to voice their concerns and ideas. Together, let us create a world where all women feel valued, supported and included.
