London International Disputes Week 2024: Uniting for global challenge and opportunity

Outer Temple Chambers is delighted to be part of London International Disputes Week (LIDW 2024) taking place between 3rd and 7th June 2024. Outer Temple Chambers will be hosting a talk on Wednesday, 5th June 2024.

With its theme, “Uniting for global challenge and opportunity”, LIDW24 will follow up on last year’s theme “Adapting to a changing world” and look not only at what progress has been made in the dispute resolution world over the last year, but also at what we can expect over the next year and beyond. What does the next year hold for dispute resolution professionals around the world?

Key issues when faced with fraud allegations in international arbitration

Amongst other aspects, the panel will address:

• where corruption fits in the context of arbitral proceedings,
• whether domestic court findings on corruption are relevant to the arbitral proceedings,
• whether a fraud argument is a question of Jurisdiction, Admissibility or Merits,
• the standard, burden and methods of proof, (v) the role of the arbitral tribunal and the local courts when dealing with fraud allegations, and
• the challenge and enforcement of arbitral awards in this context.
