Louis Weston and Samuel Cuthbert will be speaking along other experts at the second annual Sports Governance, Compliance and Investigations Conference on Thursday, 25th January 2024 at the Olympic Museum in Lausanne, Switzerland.
The Conference will involve discussions on a number of topics including:
Louis Weston of Outer Temple Chambers will be speaking alongside Jason Van’t Hof of US Integrity, Affy Sheikh of Starlizard Integrity Services and Angela Celestino of UEFA Integrity Team, chaired by Jonny Gray of Ankura on the topic of ‘Next Steps on Sports Integrity’ between 11:30-12:30 hrs.
Samuel Cuthbert of Outer Temple Chambers will be speaking alongside Emma Drake of Bird & Bird, Ingrid Beutler of Independent and Kevin Carpenter of ITTF, chaired by Charli Curran of Ankura between 14:15-15:15 hrs.

Louis Weston is a highly regarded Sports Law litigator acting for many sports domestically and internationally. He has a wealth of experience across sports law and has appeared as a leading Junior in the Legal 500, Chambers and Partners and Whos Who Legal for many years. He has acted in many of the leading corruption cases in UK and Irish Racing, Snooker, Rugby and Darts and acted and advised in cases involving sports as diverse as target shooting, Greyhound Racing and Pigeon racing. He has advised and acted in many cases before the CAS, and appeared before disciplinary tribunals across the world. He has acted as a member of the ICC’s Independent Oversight Group monitoring the work of its Anti-Corruption unit. He has advised governments on tackoling corruption in sport and acted for SGBs and International Federations on safeguarding, anit-doping and on field disputes as well as appearing for athletes and SGBs in contested hearings. He sits as a Rule K arbitrator and for the FA Judicial Panel, the ICP set up to address complaints in British Gymnastics and in other sporting disputes. He has produced reports into the conduct of Swim England and other bodies in the UK. Most recently he has completed work for IOC and UN on the prosecution of corruption cases with publication pending and in 2023 prosecuted 10 snooker players for corruption, jockeys and trainers for race fixing and coaches and national federations for failures of conduct in relation to safeguarding. Samuel Cuthbert has a broad practice with particular specialisms Sports Law and Commercial Law. Samuel is frequently instructed both as led junior counsel and in his own right. Samuel has expertise in Sports Law, in which he is described by Legal 500 as “a real star of the future”. Samuel regularly acts on behalf of athletes, clubs, and national governing bodies. Samuel is instructed in CAS proceedings, rule K arbitrations, and sporting appeals. He is currently acting in a number of high-profile safeguarding matters before arbitral panels and in the High Court.
