Lucian ILIE published in GAR Investment Treaty Arbitration

Outer Temple’s Lucian ILIE has co-authored the Romania chapter in GAR – Investment Treaty Arbitration, along with Chloe Carswell from Reed Smith and Adrian Iordache from Consortium Legal.

Global Arbitration Review (GAR) Know-how provides detailed information about individual jurisdictions in an easy-to-use-on-the-go, Q&A form. The Romania Chapter outlines the features of investor-treaty arbitration in Romania. It covers: an overview of investment treaty programme, its key features and qualifying criteria, substantive protections, the status of Romania’s investment treaties, and the practicalities of enforcing an investment treaty claim against Romania.

Lucian ILIE is a barrister specialising in international law and international arbitration, with particular expertise in investor-State disputes and commercial arbitration cases. Combining experience of civil law culture with common law know-how, Lucian’s practice areas include: (i) International Arbitration, International Organisations, Private and Public International Law and International Commercial Litigation.

In addition to his counsel work, Lucian accepts appointments as arbitrator. He is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, and is listed as arbitrator at several arbitration institutions, including on the Bucharest International Arbitration Court’s list of arbitrators. Lucian also maintains a keen academic interest in law, being the contributor to a number of publications, speaking regularly at conferences, and teaching on issues of arbitration, international and European law.
