The theme of the Bucharest Arbitration Days 2024 focuses on the legitimacy of international arbitration as a suitable dispute resolution mechanism for commercial disputes. Bucharest Arbitration Days 2024 will discuss ethics and conflicts in international arbitration; the evolving relationship between arbitration and courts; the diversity in arbitration from the perspective of diversity of seats and arbitration institutions; the ongoing discussion on evidence and the impact of technology on it.
The conference will bring together over 40 arbitration experts from 12 countries and 3 continents, who will share their expertise and engage in debates on the evolving landscape of arbitration.
Lucian ILIE will be speaking alongside Dr Richard Happ of Luther (Germany), Maria Fogdestam Agius of Westerberg & Partners (Sweden), and Anne-Carole Cremades of Schellenberg Wittmer (Switzerland) on Friday, 7th June from 11:45am to 1:00pm on the topic of ‘Enforcement of Investment Arbitration Awards in National Courts: Recent Developments and Future Trends’. He will cover the UK jurisdiction, and the session will be moderated by Ioana Knoll-Tudor of Addleshaw Goddard (France).

Lucian ILIE is an English barrister, and a French and Romanian avocat specialising in international law, transnational litigation and international arbitration, with particular expertise in investor-State disputes and commercial arbitration cases.
