Outer Temple Chambers were thrilled to celebrate Lydia Seymour KC and Martina Murphy KC being formally appointed as King’s Counsel, yesterday. We are so proud that they have been recognised for their incredible work and demonstrable excellence in advocacy in the higher courts.
Lydia and Martina had a day full of celebrations, attending ceremonies at Westminster Hall, The Royal Courts of Justice, and the Rolls Building, before heading back to Chambers for drinks with their friends, families, and colleagues.
Silks Day refers to the day new KC’s are officially sworn in, following a rigorous selection process based on the following framework:
King’s Counsel are appointed by the monarch, on recommendation of the Lord Chancellor who follows the advice of an independent panel.
Many congratulations to the both of them on this incredible achievement.
Lydia Seymour specialises in Pensions and Employment Law, including professional negligence claims in both areas. Given the dual nature of her practice, Lydia “is technically excellent” and has developed a particularly strong reputation in the areas of crossover between pensions and employment law.
