Monique Bouffé and Christopher Meiring have been offered tenancy in Chambers

We are delighted to announce that Outer Temple pupils Monique Bouffé and Christopher Meiring have been successful in being offered tenancy in chambers. Their tenancy will commence on 1st September 2022.

Both Monique and Christopher started a pupilage with Outer Temple Chambers in September 2021. After successfully completing their pupilage, we are delighted to share that they have recently both been offered tenancy in Chambers which will commence on 1st September 2022.

We are looking forward to having Monique and Chris officially be part of the team at Outer Temple and we wish them great success at our chambers.

Monique Bouffé began pupillage at Outer Temple in September 2021.

Immediately before commencing pupillage Monique worked for leading human rights organisation Liberty. Prior to coming to the Bar, Monique worked in the legal sector for seven years, specialising in finding innovative ways to make the law more accessible to members of the public.

Monique completed her first degree in History and Law at the University of Aberdeen, where she graduated with a First and was awarded the Forbes Medal in History for receiving the highest First in the History department. She completed her LLM in Public International Law at Leiden University.

Monique provides voluntary legal advice for Crisis at Christmas’s women’s shelter every year, and is a Director of Black Protest Legal Support, providing advice and legal observing to protests.

Chris Meiring commenced pupillage in with Chambers in 2021, sitting first with Jennifer Seaman (Pensions; Private Client), then Eliot Woolf QC and Will Young (Personal Injury & Clinical Negligence), and subsequently Naomi Ling (Employment & Pensions). He commenced his second six in 2022 and accepts instructions across the range of Chambers’ practice areas.

Chris began his studies reading medicine at Magdalene College, Cambridge, and Imperial College London. He then returned to Cambridge to read for an MPhil, during which he published research on prognostication in intensive care using machine learning, and received the top distinction. He subsequently practised as a junior doctor while undertaking the GDL (Distinction) and Bar course (Outstanding).
