The Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) is a not-for-profit campaign group which has been committed to injured people for more than 30 years. The APIL Catastrophic Injuries Conference 2024 is a three-day programme carefully curated by a committee of catastrophic injury experts where world class speakers and experts will be sharing practical knowledge and strategies.
Nathan Tavares KC of Outer Temple Chambers, also a member of the JPIL Editorial Board will be speaking alongside Ronnie Conway (The Conway Accident Law Practice), Brett Dixon (APIL Secretary, Scott Moncrieff & Associates), and John McQuater (Switalskis Solicitors Ltd) on the ‘JPIL Case and Comment (Monarch Suite)’ segment, sponsored by Thomson Reuters, on 16th May 2024. The Conference will be held in Birmingham at the Hilton Metropole and will be a hybrid event.
The ‘JPIL case and comment (Monarch Suite)’ discussion will take place between 4:00pm and 5:00pm.
The Journal of Personal Injury Law (JPIL), published quarterly in association with APIL, helps you keep abreast of recent developments in personal injury, covering cases, statutes and regulations, with their implications for practitioners.

Nathan Tavares KC specialises in clinical negligence, catastrophic personal injury claims, product liability, and professional negligence. Other areas of injury litigation in which Nathan has special expertise include travel law, aviation accidents (his first degree was in Aeronautical Engineering and he has acted in a number of claims with significant liability issues), claims involving the MoD, and industrial disease litigation. Nathan is an experienced horse rider and has acted predominantly for riding institutions in many horse-related claims.
