Personal injury law specialist Ian Denham is speaking at the PEOPIL Annual Conference in Dublin on Friday 29th September. Outer Temple Chambers are proud sponsors of the event. The PEOPIL annual conference is a two day-event and will be hosted in Dublin this year. Ian Denham will kick-start the series of talks from 10:30-11:30am with a panel session on ‘Brexit: where are we now and where are we going?’. Outer temples Ian Denham spoke at the joint AAJ-PEOIL event to discuss the outbreak of the Mycobacterium Abscessus pathogen at the Royal Papworth Hospital. The recording is now available. In this presentation, Ian Denham discusses his role in the Inquest that followed the deaths of two women following an outbreak of the Mycobacterium Abscessus pathogen at the Royal Papworth Hospital in Cambridge. The background Karen Starling, aged 54, and Anne Martinez, aged 65, both tested positive for Mycobacterium Abscessus (MA) after successfully undergoing double lung transplants at the Royal Papworth Hospital. A NHS serious incident report found that 21 patients with lung conditions were infected with MA in the months after the specialist heart and lung hospital opened in May 2019.…

Outer Temple’s Sarah Crowther KC and Ian Denham are speaking at the PEOPIL Joint Occupational Health/Workplace Accidents and RTA Conference on Thursday 15th & Friday 16th June 2023 in Greece. PEOPIL was founded in 1996 by a group of personal injury lawyers practicing in various jurisdictions in Europe. Their aim was to set up a networking organisation to provide a forum for personal injury lawyers across Europe and to improve and promote judicial co-operation and mutual knowledge of legal and judicial systems of European jurisdictions in this field. We are pleased to announce that Outer Temple barrister Ian Denham has been appointed as the new Representative for England and Wales on the PEOPIL General Board. On Thursday 15th September 2022, PEOPIL announced their new General Board members on the eve of the Annual Conference in Copenhagen. Ian succeeds Philip Mead of 12KBW who steps down after completing his time in this role. Ian will continue to represent the interests of PEOPIL members from England & Wales, which has one of the largest memberships by country. The Board is presided over by Spanish lawyer Ana Romero.
