We are pleased to announce that Lucian ILIE has been appointed to the Attorney General’s Public International Law C Panel of Counsel. The Attorney General established panels of junior counsel to undertake public international law on behalf of all government departments in order to supplement the work of the existing 3 London Panels – A, B and C. The PIL Panels, which sit alongside the London and Regional Panels, ensure that the Government has access to specialist advocates for work before international courts and tribunals as well as the courts of England and Wales. Outer Temple’s International Arbitration experts Sean Yates, Lucian Ilieand Maanas Jain have been ranked in the Lexology Index: Arbitration 2025 report for their expertise in this area of law. The Lexology Index: Arbitration report, released on Thursday 20th November 2025 highlights the leading arbitration practitioners worldwide. It features lawyers, expert witnesses and future leaders. Sean Yates has been ranked as a ‘Recommended Barrister’ in this year’s report. This category features individuals that are considered leaders in their field. Lucian Ilie of Outer Temple Chambers, instructed by Adrian Iordache of Consortium Legal and Dana Buscu of Musat & Asociatii, recently obtained summary judgment in the Commercial Court in favour of Romanian airline Blue Air Aviation in its claim against the airline Groupe Transair of Senegal (unreported). After securing as sole counsel a summary judgment before the English courts for the Romanian airline company Dan Air against the Nigerian company Arik Air, Lucian secured another successful outcome before the English Commercial Court in the matter Blue Air Aviation against the Senegalese Groupe Transair, in which judgment was entered by Mr. Charles Hollander KC on 18 December 2024.
