APIL are holding a full day conference on Accidents Abroad at Kingsway Hall Hotel (London, UK) on November the 17th. David Westcott QC is one of three speakers on “The Discount Rate, PPO’s and Security of Funding in the International Claims Context” alongside Julian Chamberlayne (Partner and Head of Travel Law at Stewarts Law) and Chris Daykin (Actuary). Sarah Crowther is also talking on the day about “Claims against the MIB and EU Motor Insurance Directives”. Gerard McDermott QC will be chairing the whole day. The Spinal Injuries Association will hold its solicitors’ training conference on Thursday 22 October at Glazier’s Hall by London Bridge, SE1. Aimed at solicitors and barristers practising in personal injury work, the conference will include sessions on working with children and young people with SCI, and becoming spinal cord injured at an early age. The conference will be chaired by Christopher Wilson-Smith QC. Matthew Stockwell and Sarah Crowther will discuss selecting and managing expert witnesses, while John McKendrick and Katarina Sydow will make a presentation on education needs for children with a SCI.
