Outer Temple barristers to give advocacy training at the DIFC Academy of Law

Outer Temple members John McKendrick KC and Nicholas Hill will be providing advanced advocacy skills training at the second part of the DIFC Laws Certificate programme. This training will take place on 9th to 10th October 2023.

The DIFC Academy are hosting a course named ‘Advanced Advocacy Skills‘ which is part of the DIFC Laws Certificate programme. This comprehensive training explores the application of traditional advocacy skills to activities routinely performed by lawyers. There will be series of both unassessed and assessed advocacy exercises. These exercises take the form of mock hearings covering submissions (written and oral), witness handling and general advocacy tips. They serve as useful refreshers for courtroom skills.

This will be the second out of the three parts to the course, all provided by barristers from Outer Temple Chambers. This second session of the advanced advocacy course will be hosted by John McKendrick KC and Nicholas Hill. The training will focus on ‘Oral Submissions and Appeal Advocacy’ and will involve: talking on the topic, practical workshop training, and one or two advocacy exercises/mock trials.

The last session of the training course will be on 23rd to 24th October by Jonathan Hand KC and Peter Linstead.
