The Legal 500 UK Bar 2027 results were announced on 1st October and we would like to congratulate all of our colleagues and thank all of our friends and clients for helping to make this yet another standout success of a year.
After winning ‘Personal Injury Set of the Year’ at the Legal 500 UK Bar Awards 2026 last month, we are delighted that this recognition has continued with a Top Tier Set ranking for the Personal Injury team, alongside our existing Top Tier Set listings in the Pensions and Crypto & Blockchain Assets categories.
146 individuals and 10 departments have been recommended in 25 different categories including:
Our Business Crime team are delighted to have a number of individual rankings across related areas including Business Crime (Large Corporates), Fraud & White Collar Crime, POCA, and Sanctions categories this year.
Oliver Powell KC is now ranked in the New Silks tables of 8 categories, including Business Crime (Large Corporates), Fraud & White Collar Crime, POCA and Sanctions. Meanwhile, Sophie O’Sullivan has achieved a rare two-tier promotion into Tier 2 of Fraud & White Collar Crime, as well as a promotion in the Sanctions table. Joshua Hitchens also joins the Sanctions table this year.
Henry Reid now joins Tier 4 of the Banking & Finance table and Tier 3 of Financial Services Regulation table alongside his colleagues who retain their spots.
Our Health & Safety team has also seen 3 promotions for Paul Rogers, Oliver Powell KC and Sophie O’Sullivan.
Our Tier 3 Professional Discipline team congratulate James Counsell KC, Martina Murphy KC and Louis Weston on their promotion within the rankings.
Our Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury departments are widely regarded as one of the best in the business, which is reflected in the 2027 results.
With 21 ranked barristers, including 9 Silks, our Personal Injury team are enjoying an elevated ranking to the status of ‘Top Tier Set’ with both Harry Steinberg KC and Sarah Crowther KC joining Tier 1.
With 19 individuals ranked in the Clinical Negligence table, a special mention should go to Rachel Vickers KC, Harry Lambert, and Tom Gibson who have all received promotions, whilst Ben Bradley KC now enters the New Silks table of both Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence.
Aliyah Akram now joins the Product Liability table, whilst Nathan Tavares KC enjoys a promotion.
The Commercial team have also been recognised in a number of categories, including retaining their Top Tier Set status in the Crypto and Blockchain Assets table.
Oliver Powell KC and Henry Reid join the Commercial Litigation table, whilst our members retain their positions in the Insolvency table.
We are delighted to be recognised for the first time in the International Arbitration: Counsel table, with new entries for Lucian Ilie, Maanas Jain and Olivia Kaye. Public International Law barrister Lucian Ilie retains his spot in that table.
Our Professional Negligence team retain their spot in Tier 3, with a new addition to the individual rankings in Saul Margo.
Sports Law barrister Harry Steinberg KC enters the Sports Silks table for the first time this year.
Congratulations to our Employment Law team for a staggering 20 individual rankings, including a promotion for Alex Line, Paul Livingston and Will Young, as well as a rare two-tier jump from 4 to 2 for Victoria Brown. New Silks Lydia Seymour KC and Martina Murphy KC join the silks table this year, whilst Charlotte Elves is recognised as a Rising Star.
The Inquests & Inquiries table welcomes 3 new entries; Harry Lambert, James Leonard KC and Oliver Powell KC.
Our ‘Top Tier Set’ ranked Pensions team welcomes Charlotte Elves to our roster of ranked barristers, making a total of 17 Silks and Juniors in the table. Congratulations to Keith Bryant KC and Victoria Brown for their promotions, whilst Lydia Seymour KC and Martina Murphy KC join the New Silks table this year. We are also pleased to retain our Private Wealth & Probate rankings.
Joshua Hitchens retains his spot in the Administrative Law & Human Rights rankings. Alex Line and Monique Bouffe retain their positions in the Education table.
