Outer Temple Chambers welcome new pupils Danielle Watts and Emman Bhangu

We are delighted to welcome Danielle Watts and Emman Bhangu, who start their pupillage at Outer Temple Chambers today.

Outer Temple Chambers is thrilled to welcome new pupils Danielle and Emman. Head of Pupillage, Saul Margo says, “We’re excited to have Danielle and Emman starting with us today and we wish them the best of luck for what we hope will be a successful and enjoyable year of pupillage”.

Danielle Watts

Prior to coming to the Bar, Danielle worked as a paralegal for a leading human rights law firm, where she assisted on matters including complex judicial review challenges, private law claims and the Covid-19 Inquiry.

Danielle graduated from the University of Oxford with a First Class Honours in Jurisprudence, where she was awarded prizes for her exam performance in criminal law and tort law. Her dissertation focused on issues relating to the disclosure of medical risks, for which she achieved the joint highest mark in her cohort. Prior to starting pupillage, Danielle completed the Bar Course at the Inns of Court College of Advocacy.

Outside of academics, Danielle has volunteered on several projects related to disability rights and accessibility, an area in which she has a specific interest. She was awarded the TargetJobs Runner Up Undergraduate of the Year 2020 in recognition of her work in this sphere.

Emman Bhangu

Prior to commencing pupillage at Outer Temple Chambers, Emman worked as a legal assistant to a barrister at a leading set specialising in media, public, and human rights law. In this role, she assisted with complex matters, including a high-profile defamation trial.

Emman graduated from the University of Cambridge with First Class Honours in Law, where she was awarded the Bundy Scholarship and the Orlando Bridgeman Prize for her performance in the Law Tripos examinations. She subsequently completed an LLM at the London School of Economics, with a focus on public international law, and was awarded a Distinction. Emman went on to complete the Bar Course on a Lord Denning Scholarship from Lincoln’s Inn, achieving an Outstanding overall, with the highest and second-highest marks in her cohort in Criminal Litigation and Civil Litigation respectively.

Alongside her academic studies, Emman has gained wide-ranging experience across different areas of practice. She has volunteered with organisations including Advocate, Bail for Immigration Detainees, Liberty, and Support Through Court, assisting with matters involving public, immigration, and employment law.
