Robert Rhodes KC and Lucian ILIE appointed to the DIAC Arbitrator panel

Outer Temple Chambers is delighted to announce that Robert Rhodes KC and Lucian ILIE have been registered as arbitrators with the Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC).

The Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC) is the largest arbitration centre in the Middle East, providing a high calibre of arbitration services and facilities on an international scale. DIAC administers and supports arbitration, mediation, and other forms of alternative dispute resolution, facilitating the settlement of commercial disputes outside judicial courts for parties of all nationalities and jurisdictions.

The specific services offered include the overseeing of arbitral proceedings and commercial disputes; appointing arbitrators; choosing the venue for arbitration and fixing the fees of arbitrators and mediators. DIAC maintains a directory of experts with diverse knowledge and practical experience in this field.

Robert Rhodes KC and Lucian ILIE of Outer Temple Chambers have both been appointed to the DIAC Arbitrator list.

Robert Rhodes KC is a specialist in  international arbitration, commercial, financial services, regulatory and disciplinary law, civil fraud and business crime. He has lectured in various continents on international arbitration and the other areas of law that he specialises in, and has published extensively. Robert is a panel member of numerous arbitration and mediation panels worldwide, as well as being an experienced arbitration counsel.

Lucian ILIE is an English barrister and French and Romanian avocat specialising in international law, transnational litigation and international arbitration, with particular expertise in investor-State disputes and commercial arbitration cases. With over 10 years of experience in London and Paris, Lucian has acted as counsel and arbitrator in more than 20 international arbitral proceedings brought under many of the major arbitration rules (including the ICSID, UNCITRAL, PCA, SCC, ICC, LCIA, SCAI, CEPANI and VIAC rules), governed by civil law and common law (including under International/EU, English, French, Swiss and Romanian law) with seat of arbitration in England, France, Switzerland, Romania, Belgium and Austria. He is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, and is listed as arbitrator at several arbitration institutions.
