Robert Rhodes QC lectures on the Singapore Convention on Mediation

Robert Rhodes QC, at the request of the China Maritime Arbitration Commission, will be lecturing on the Singapore Convention on Mediation at the Forum on ADR in Shanghai on 5 November.

The Singapore Convention is of potentially huge interest to businesses worldwide because, until this Convention, it was expensive and time-consuming to enforce international commercial mediation settlements in third countries.  The Singapore Convention (on which Robert has regularly lectured) is designed to overcome this problem, and to do for international commercial mediation settlements what the New York Convention has done for international arbitration awards, viz make enforcement in third countries quick and inexpensive.

Robert Rhodes QC is a panel member of numerous arbitration and mediation panels worldwide, with particular emphasis on the Far East, as well as being an experienced arbitration counsel.
