Sean Yates to moderate a panel session at the CIArb Mediation Event

UAE based barrister, Sean Yates will be moderating a panel session at the CIArb Mediation event on Thursday, 4th July in Abu Dhabi.

CIArb is a global, independent, charitable membership organisation incorporated by Royal Charter. They are committed to supporting the effective resolution of disputes with members based worldwide.

Sean Yates will be moderating a panel discussion on 4th July at the Al Aidarous Law Firm (ADGM Office), Abu Dhabi from 12:00pm to 2:00pm. The panel including Wolf Von Kumberg, Robert Sliwinski, Hashem Al Aidarous and Haitham Mokhtar will discuss the growing use of commercial mediation in the UAE and the new DIAC Mediation Rules.

Topics will include:

• How does mediation fit into the ADR landscape?
• The role of lawyers and experts in mediation.
• How do you choose the mediator?
• The importance of the Institution and mediation rules.
• Differences in mediation procedures between the ADGM Courts’ system and the federal and local courts’ systems of Abu Dhabi.
• A recent trend in UAE Courts: whether pre-conditions to ADR are considered a matter of jurisdiction or matters of admissibility.
