First in a series of events, The ICC are hosting this panel session based on the ongoing attacks on the rule of law and the International Rules Based System, inspired by increased challenges from geo-political pressures, sanctions, and security risks.
The event is aimed at International Criminal Lawyers and will focus on how to address these challenges. It will also highlight developments aimed at strengthening protections for lawyers, like the recent Council of Europe Convention for the Protection of the Profession of Lawyer (Luxembourg Convention).
Sophie O’Sullivan will be speaking on “Practicing International Criminal Law Under Pressure: Sanctions, Threats and Protections”, alongside Mylène Dimitri (ICC Defence Counsel and Chair of ICCBA-ABCPI), Natalie von Wistinghausen (ICC Legal Representative of Victims and ICCBA-ABCPI), Roman Zavrsek (President of the Council of Bars and Law Societies of Europe CCBE), and moderator Judge Beti HOHLER (ICC Judge).
The talk will take place between 16:00 and 18:00 at the Hague. To find out more and to register to the event, click here.
