Rebecca Priestley joined Outer Temple Chambers as our Chief Executive in 2019. She is responsible for providing strategic leadership and the overall management of our set. This includes client care, practice management and business development, fees & finance, brand & marketing, recruitment & talent management. Rebecca works very closely with the business development and administration teams to develop Chambers’ practice areas and ensure that an excellent quality of service is delivered to our clients.

Rebecca is committed to the promotion of diversity and inclusion at Outer Temple Chambers and the Bar. One area of focus is looking at practical measures to support women’s career progression, and improve the ratio of female silks at the Bar.

With her background as an executive HR Director and dual-qualified solicitor and barrister, Rebecca has extensive financial services and legal experience, managerial skills and business acumen. Rebecca joined from Lloyds Banking Group, where as People Director, Group Employee Relations and Policy, she was a member of the Executive HR Leadership team and the GCE’s Strategic Leadership Group. Previous roles include leading the HR Legal departments at Lloyds Banking Group and at Standard Chartered Bank. Before moving to financial services in 2006, Rebecca worked in private practice, initially at the Bar and then as a senior associate at Simmons & Simmons.

Rebecca is also a Non-Executive Director of the City Mental Health Alliance (CMHA), an alliance of FTSE 100 financial services companies and magic circle law firms committed to promoting best practice in the City to support mental wellbeing and destigmatise mental ill-health.
