Success in Chambers & Partner UK Bar Rankings 2022

Outer Temple is delighted to announce that we are again ranked as a leading set across 8 practice areas in the 2022 edition of Chambers and Partners. Outer Temple now has 86 individual barrister rankings in Chambers & Partners, including 28 individual promotions this year.

In addition to our expertise in Clinical Negligence, Personal Injury, Court of Protection, Employment, Education, Financial Services, Health & Safety, Pensions, Professional Discipline and Travel, Financial Crime, Inquests and Public Inquiries, Sport, Chancery Commercial, Chancery Commercial, Commercial Dispute Resolution, Traditional Chancery, POCA, and Industrial Disease, we now also have members recognised in Group Litigation, Animal Law and Cryptocurrency.

Our Employment Team “continues to impress with its involvement at the epicentre of ground-breaking mass equal pay litigation. The barristers are highly experienced in all manner of discrimination claims and whistle-blowing matters, as well as employment cases with crossover pensions elements.” Feedback from instructing solicitors reflects that our employment barristers are “very approachable and pragmatic, really good with clients and able to provide a clear way ahead.”

Our Pensions Team demonstrates “notable expertise in a broad range of contentious and non-contentious issues pertaining to pensions law, with sources commenting that the set “really stands out on pensions work.”” Members were praised for being “highly adept at handling Part 7 professional negligence claims and Part 8 actions, as well as cases regarding scheme deed rectifications and regulatory proceedings” and having “a wealth of experience appearing before all levels of the court system.”

In Clinical Negligence, we were commended for being a “chambers with a well-deserved reputation for excellence.” Our feedback noted that we house a “strong bench of senior and junior barristers who have experience of representing both claimants and defendants in a wide range of clinical negligence claims.”

In Personal Injury, we are noted for being “a highly regarded set for personal injury matters, housing a strong bench of barristers at both senior and junior level…. with several multinational companies, major insurers and defence organisations among their diverse clientele.”

In Court of Protection, our rank reflected our reputation as “a highly regarded set for Court of Protection matters, with noted expertise in cases concerning the health and welfare of vulnerable individuals…The set also houses strength in the handling of property and affairs disputes.”

Our Disciplinary and Regulatory Team are commended for having “notable capability in disciplinary work across a broad spread of regulated professions. The barristers continue to tackle prominent regulatory cases in both branches of the legal profession, and have strong experience in the defence of doctors, dentists and nurses.”

Our Travel Team are noted for housing “a strong bench of senior and junior barristers experienced in the handling of complex and high-value international personal injury matters” with members that are “regularly instructed in catastrophic injury claims arising from sporting accidents and foreign RTAs.” Our recent Cross-Border Conference was complimented by clients for offering topical subjects and guest speakers.

We were also delighted that our Practice Management Team are particularly commended for their provision of quality client service. The practice directors and managers were applauded for always being willing to “go the extra mile to help”, “making the impossible happen” and being “very efficient and collaborative when trying to get things organised and having a hands-on approach.”
